KGF Chapter 2 is the new, upcoming Kannada movie, a sequel to the movie KGF (Kolar Gold Fields). It is a drama, action, and romantic movie directed by the famous Prasanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kirangandur.
The movie features the megastars of the Kannada film industry: Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, and Bollywood superstars Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon.
It was directed by Neel, with the choreography handled by Bhuvan Gowda; music and soundtrack scored by Ravi Brasur, the Hindi-dubbed version of this film had already made 20 crores in the booking before its release.
The original Kannada film is scheduled to release on 14 April 2022. This movie will also have dubbed versions of Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu languages. KGF Chapter 2 is the first Kannada film to be released on IMAX.
Story of KGF Chapter-2
The second installment of KGF is an emotional action drama. It’s the follow-up to KGF Chapter 1. (2019). Rocky Bhai (Yash) promises his ailing mother that he will become the wealthiest person on the planet before he dies.
Rocky Bhai begins his journey to becoming wealthy as promised. First, he visits the Kolar Gold Fields near Bangalore, where he finds illegal gold mines. Then, he takes over KGF by assassinating Garuda, the organization’s Chief Villain. What happens next and why the Prime Minister issues a death warrant for Rocky Bhai will be revealed in Chapter 2 of KGF.

- PREMISE: THE PLOT
Rocky (Yash) killed Garuda in the previous movie KGF. Rocky was a savior to the people in KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) as his name spread far and wide and created fear among his rivals. In this chapter, he will be face to face with Adheera, his biggest foe, and learn more about his past.
- CAST
There were rumors heard earlier around Feb 2019 that Sanjay Dutt would play a pivotal role in this movie. KGF fans will see him as Adheera, the villain. Sanjay Dutt made his Kannada debut with this movie; he compared his role to Thanos, saying, ‘Adheera has scary makeup.’
A source from the Times of India said earlier that Raveena Tandon would play the powerful and major role of Ramika Sen (PM of India) in this movie. ‘A difficult character to portray on screen tried my best.
While Yash and Srinidhi are playing their respective roles as Rocky and Reena, they have rejected 6-7 movies to make a breakthrough in this movie.
‘Waited so long for the sequel to release,’ said Srinidhi. Actor Prakash Raj and Telugu actor Rao Ramesh play very important parts in the movie.
Cast and Crew of KGF 2
The cast of the first film, on the other hand, was amazing, and all of the roles played by performers were incredibly intriguing. And we can all agree that it’s because of Yash Rocking Superstar and director Prashanth Neel that this film has become such a sensation on the internet. Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and others are among the actors and actresses who make their debut in KGF 2.
FILMING
The filmmakers had completed the major portions of the movie when in March 2020, the pandemic started. They even started with dubbing and post-production work; the last sequence of the movie was the portion left to shoot when the lockdown happened. Sanjay Dutt’s dubbing portion was not far from being done when his lung cancer was detected, and he got hospitalized. The climax scene was shot in Hyderabad around December 2020, along with the post-production work.
OTT Platform KGF 2
The majority of the buzz surrounding this picture was produced when it was made available on Amazon Prime, an OTT platform. Following the success of the first part, the filmmaker and the Amazon Prime team have already started collaborating on the KGF Chapter 2 OTT rights cost of 150 crores. Not only that, but Zee Networks has acquired the rights this time, and we expect it to be broadcast on Zee5 in the same way that the Radhe film was.
Release-
The film was scheduled to be released in October 2020, during Dussehra. However, it did not happen due to the pandemic. The filmmakers announced the release in July 2021, but it did not happen again because of the second wave of the virus and the lockdown in India.
The teaser trailer was supposed to release on 8 January 2021 (on the birthday of Yash). Still, unfortunately, there was a leak in some of the notorious pirated websites like Tamilrockers, so they released it on 7 January, ahead of the official day.
KGF Chapter 2 is already scoring hits, released on 14 April 2022 on 10,000 screens worldwide. Furthermore, it is the first Kannada film that will premiere in Greece, and also it will be released on IMAX.
Both ZEE and Sony networks bought the digital rights to the movie. The digital streaming partner of the movie is Amazon Prime Video.

Overview of Chapter 2 of the KGF-
Even though we’ve already covered a lot of ground in our previous KGF 2 story, for the time being, here’s a quick recap. As we saw in the first section, Rocky wants to rule the world and become so well-known that he becomes a brand in his own right. Therefore, he went to the Kolar Gold Fields to assassinate Garuda and take control of the land in his desire for dominion. With the help of slave laborers, he successfully hunted and obtained the KGF location. The story will continue in the next installment.
